How to use your Glowstone Flashlight

Flashlight FAQs

Is my Flashlight waterproof?
Yes, we have tested Glowstone Flashlight’s down to 30 metres underwater (they are regularly used by scuba divers). Beyond this depth, It should be safe to use at depths greater than 30 meters, but the button may become unresponsive.

How durable is my Flashlight?
We built the Glowstone Flashlight to be extremely durable but it obviously has its limits. While our marketing videos may show it being run over by a car or thrown off a building we wouldn’t recommend doing this. It will however have no problem holding up under the normal wear and tear of everyday life or on outdoor adventures.

How do I know how much battery is left?
Cycle through to the blue mode by holding the power button down, then release. Your flashlight will indicate the level of charge by illuminating a certain number of LED rows. For example, if 3 of the 9 rows of LED illuminate, you have 33% charge level remaining.

Can I leave my Flashlight on the charger for longer than 2 hours?
Yes, once your Flashlight is fully charged it will automatically stop charging so you can leave it on the charger if you wish. We do however recommend removing your flashlight after 3 hours, as continuously overcharging can shorten their life.

Do I have to use a Glowstone charger?
While we recommend using an official Glowstone charging mat, your Flashlight can be charged by other wireless Qi chargers.

Why is my Flashlight getting hot when charging?
The power is transferred through constantly oscillating a magnetic field, making the current flow one way, then another in the receiver coil. This constant oscillation of the power creates the heat that you can feel.

Does my Flashlight brightness sometimes dim?
Your Flashlight has its own temperature sensor in the Flashlight to make sure it’s not overheating. You may notice in full brightness that it flickers periodically and the light dims. This is done to protect the battery’s life and the user.

Why is my power button not lighting up on the charger?
The battery is completely empty and doesn’t have enough power to turn the blue light on.
